About Damon Jespersen
I want to bring a forward-looking vision to the Newbury Board of Selectmen. Using the Master Plan, which the town created and approved, will help ensure that decisions not only address the immediate issues, but also look at the long-term needs and goals of our town.
We cannot continue to simply address today’s issues without also looking at how the town will be affected long after today’s selectmen have moved on. I want to make sure that everyone in town feels they have access to the selectman. I intend to help make sure that the town continues to be a place in which we all want to live.
Damon Jespersen is a Newbury native. He attended Newbury Elementary School, Triton High School, and Governor Dummer Academy. During his elementary school career he went to the world finals for Olympics of the Mind (now Destination Imagination) twice. After receiving a degree from Marlboro College he returned to the area and began working in the arts (theater and ceramics) and making a living as a carpenter. He returned to school at Emerson College to get a Master of Arts in the theater education. While finishing his degree, he began designing the house that he built with the aid of family and friends on his back lot at Even Stride Farms. Damon currently works as an arborist with Keith Stromski as well as continues to pursue his artistic endeavors. Each year he takes some time off to help with the annual haunting of 169 Elm Street, much to his mother’s chagrin.
